Venezuelan Gang's Youth Terrorize Times Square
Venezuelan gang teens wreak havoc in Times Square — NYP Journalists spoke with top NYPD officials. Law enforcers are concerned that about two dozen underage members of the Tren de Aragua gang are terrorizing Times Square. Police say the teens have gone from stealing purses to full-blown robberies at gunpoint. The gang members have been targeting tourists and locals alike. Assistant Detective Bureau Chief Jason Savino says Venezuelan kids get away with it. Extremely loyal sanctuary city laws keep them out of jail. About 50 times police have apprehended gang members (they call themselves "Los Diablos de la 42"), but none of them have ended up in jail. Police also fear that the "Little Devils" may soon start a violent war with another local gang, the "Latin Kings."
